So how do you get those A list interviews!?
Day one of TIFF!
I’m hoping my “tiffmares” stop. What are tiffmares? Well they are nightmares that are strictly TIFF related. They start around August when I start screening films for the festival!!! Let’s breakdown what happens pre tiff…
The crazy schedule started about a month ago. How it works is if you want to interview a star…you have to see their movie. Makes sense right? Of course! But, just because you see the movie doesn’t guarantee you will get the star!!! So you could spend 30, 40, 100 hours watching movies then you have to “negotiate” with the movie reps and the stars personal publicists for time with the stars. You get max 3-5 minutes with directors, producers and actors.
Today was a good day, we interviewed Emily Blunt for her movie Looper. It’s opening the festival at Roy Thompson hall. Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and hello Jeff Daniels ( love him in Newsroom!) all star in the flick.
Kristen Stewart will apparently make her first public appearance tonight on the red carpet. But will she stop? My guess is NO NO NO. She’ll arrive late…we’ll get pictures and video of her walking quickly past the fans and crowd. She stars in On the Road with Amy Adams, Kristen Dusnst and Francis Ford Coppola who produced it.
If you want to stargaze today here are your go to spots: Roy Thompson for the stars of Looper, Ryerson for On the Road, Soho house for an after party 10ish! Loft for an afterparty and MLSE for the official TIFF opening party. Who are you looking forward to seeing this year at TIFF?
