Rihanna’s video for her new hit Where Have You Been hasn’t even been out a week yet and it already has broken a record! VEVO announced that the video broke the VEVO record for the most views in a 24 hour period with a whopping 4.9 million views within its first 24 hours on VEVO’s site, and it only keeps growing.

The official VEVO Twitter account tweeted, @VEVO: NUMBERS ARE IN! After filtering out the BS & triple-checking, @rihanna #WHYBvideo24hrRECORD stands @ 4,937,281! Congrats! Your move, Bieber (possibly referring to the release of Justin’s video for Boyfriend ).

Rihanna celebrated the feat with her fans on Twitter: @rihanna: That Rihanna reign just won’t let up!  #WHYBvideo holds the new 24hr record for VEVO!

This record however, didn’t last long! In less than 24 hours, Bieber’s ‘Boyfriend’ had over 5 million views! VEVO tweeted, @VEVO: WOW. Considering 24hrs haven’t even passed and @justinbieber’s #BOYFRIENDvideo is already over 5M, it’s safe to say the new record is his!  They continued, @VEVO: Final count coming in a couple of days, but it’ll well over 5 Million. #Boyfriendbroketherecord Already. @justinbieber swag.
