How many Directions are there?
Apparently two…Sean Oleary the lead signer of the US band ONE DIRECTION exclusively chats with the Roz & Mocha Show!
One Direction, California pop-punk band, has sued One Direction, the cute British guys, as well as Cowell’s Syco Entertainment and Sony Music for trademark infringement (the U.S. band applied to trademark the name in Feb. 2011). They’re asking the British One Direction to stop using that name in promotional materials, and are also seeking a share of the profits they’ve earned and more than $1 million in compensation. Neither Cowell nor Syco has commented at this time.

I think that they may have something but I think it is mostly for getting out there. Before this lawsuit I had never heared of the guys from the USA. I think that this will all blow over in a few days time.

what a joke! like who do they think they are suing our beloved UK one direction…. these guys are just looking for some money and a fame boost. i mean do they even have proof that they had the name before our guys did? Team UK one direction FOR SURE. they dont deserve this so early in their career!

wow i don’t even know why these guys are suing our boys 1D Uk. i swear kevin the pigeon is more famous than them. the are only doing this to get fame. 1d uk has 2.9 million followers on twitter and 1d US has 1 thousand… i guess that makes my point

i heard about the US one direction about half a year ago after i found out about the UK one direction and before they had no problems. now that the UK 1D is becoming more and more famous around the world they finally file a lawsuit. theyre jealous and want to get money out of them. apperently Simon paid them the money so the UK 1d CAN STAY AS ONE DIRECTION

UK One Direction came up with the name in 2010 and US One Direction say they got the name in 2011. Really? This is like that woman coming forward saying Justin Bieber was her baby’s dad all over again. It’s all for publicity.

THEY ARE NOT JELOUS, THAT BAND NAME WAS COPYRIGHTED! THEY HAVE EVERY SINGLE RIGHT TO THAT NAME. Just because you are a little fan of a band who will probably fade away like the others soon, does not mean you will get your way. AND JUST BECAUSE YOU WERE JUST HEARING ABOUT IT does not mean it was not being debated before it was online. You know, i hope the UK OD fades real fast, because i am really getting tired of seeing their faces.
