A SCHOOLBOY will celebrate his 11th birthday the day BEFORE his dad does.

Youngster Seamus Clarke will reach the age on February 28, hours before dad James.

Car Salesman James was born on February 29, 1968 — so while he is actually 44, he will only be celebrating his 11th proper birthday. And schoolboy Seamus is delighted by the leap-year quirk. James said: “Seamus finds it hilarious that he will turn 11 before me.”

“He’s been telling all of his friends at school and they have a good laugh — it’s a real big deal for him.”

James had a big celebration four years ago to mark his tenth — or 40th — birthday but he said he is more excited about having a joint birthday party with his son.

He added: “We always have a little do and this year we are going to take Seamus to the cinema with his friends and then have a little party back at the house.

“It’s a bit different and is just a bit of fun really. I’m used to missing out on my real birthday, but being born in a leap year did have its benefits when I was at school.”

“You know what children are like — especially boys, we were always giving each other birthday bumps or beats.”

James called into the Roz & Mocha show to chat about his awesome 11th birthday…
