Take that American Idol!

NBCs ‘The Voice’ has made an official announcement that they’ve landed some pop music heavyweights to help guest mentor on the upcoming season.

Who will be appearing?

None other than the likes of former American Idol Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson!

Last September, Kelly was quoted as saying, ‘The thing I love about The Voice is that they’re more mentors — they’re not judges. I would never really want to be a judge, just because I don’t want to break people’s hearts.’

Joining Kelly as a guest mentor on Blake Shelton’s team will be his wife Miranda Lambert.

Adam Levine has tapped Alannis Morrisette and Robin Thicke for his team, Cee Lo will get help from Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds and Ne-Yo, while Christina Aguilera will get help from Jewel and Lionel Richie.

With all that talent scheduled to appear on the show, The Voice has put itself in a good position to secure big time ratings for the upcoming season.

The new season of The Voice premieres on February 5th right after the Super Bowl on NBC!
