After just 14 months of marriage, Russell Brand has filed for divorce from Katy Perry. Details after the jump. 

According to TMZ, the 36 year old British comedian filed court documents in LA today citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.

Russell released a statement:

“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”

Katy has yet to comment, so speculation is Russell filed without discussing it with her.

After the events of the past week I can’t say I’m surprised. The past few days Russell was caught in London without his wedding ring.

Too bad, there’s another Hollywood marriage down the tubes.
